This student-led module, delivered in partnership with Teesside University, is aimed at healthcare practitioners across Circle Health Group and runs twice an academic year, lasting 14 weeks in total.
An “Open Learning Module” allows you to study a clinical topic of your choice that is relevant to your clinical area supported by a Circle Health Group Clinical Educator and, if required, a subject matter expert in the field that you are studying.
When you have chosen the area that you wish to study and agreed this with your line manager you will need to watch a virtual induction session lasting 1 hour where the course requirements are explained to you.
This presents an ideal opportunity for those staff working in a wide range of areas within Circle Health Group to gain accreditation for what they are doing. An applicant might wish to use a course they may have previously attended as an opportunity to focus on a specific aspect of care and use their study to gain L7 academic credits.
The Open Units adopt an Adult Learner approach to study. Whilst you are supported by a Clinical Educator as a supervisor, you are responsible for developing the study, gathering information, reading research articles and seeking direction and supervision in order to complete and submit a written essay to support accreditation.

Entry Requirements:
Applicants should discuss access to this course with their manager and Practice Based Educator prior to booking.
A signed Learning Agreement will be required upon application.
